Submit
We read submissions of poetry during the
month of August. Please send a friendly number of poems in one MS Word
attachment before August 31, 2009. Introduce yourself to us in the body of the
email and feel free to include a list of previous publications, if any.
For issue 13 we are particularly
interested in Recovery Projects, which are brief essays celebrating a single
book that you feel people should be reading but are not reading. The recovery
should be about 1000 words, about a book that is at least 20 years old &
out of print, but all those are flexible. The only real requirement is that the
recovery inspires a reader to want to track down that book and read it as soon
as possible. Please write us to pitch a Recovery Project.
Send poems or recoveries to
octopusmagazine@gmail.com
All rights revert to the authors upon
publication in Octopus, and the works can then be subsequently published,
though we ask that Octopus get its props as the place of initial publication.
We'll accept simultaneous submissions; just let us know if it is accepted
elsewhere. We do not consider previously published work.
