here forever

spring even

winter forgets

the body’s crumbs

 

lingering after

disaster

the social

astir in fields

 

moths   crickets

pasture inside

mother’s heart

thickening from

 

such imperfection

anxious to

break

Presto  gis-Moll

 

 

else believe chromatic

     scales are colorless, not as

a spectrum, are as wasted apparition

    fades, transfigures

the return of schoolboys, & their paths

            disappear like

dewdrop on morning glass

airs, the heard

disassembling glass, another dissipating

                visage:

 

Else weightless time he hath spelled his

Name

Sound the world breathing out.

Else to wait what else to regret.

Else to enter in an afternoon theater to rouse form to germ electric collars round light.

Else to avoid being plucked.

Else to gully another moment of being in this

World.

(Else there is no seed, no Paris, no Warsaw.)

Else no other physical conditions of life, be it

Struggle.
